Car Seat and Stroller Input...

Hey guys. So we have been looking at strollers and car seats and I'm having a really hard time deciding what to do! I want you guys to tell me which you think is better. The stroller and car seat that are pictured together are a brand called Chicco. The two things together brand new are $279. The picture of just the stroller is a brand called Peg Perego. It has a matching car seat also, just not pictured. That one is much more expensive. The stroller alone is $329, and the car seat $219, but I can buy them both a year old and used as a set for about $320. So basically, I want to know what you guys like better. We cant afford the Peg Perego new, but could probably do the Chicco. You can leave comments below, where it says "comments" Let me know what you guys think! Thanks! John and I are bad at making these kinds of decisions.

Summer probably has better advice than I do - they both look way nicer than anything I ever had for you kids. I'd say go for the best deal - they both seem high quality.

So, I know that Peg Perego is a good brand...you are paying some for the name but you'll get a good quality product. I don't know anything about the other brand though. Have you done any research on Chicco? Read reviews, talked to friends, tried it out? It may be just as good, I just don't have any knowledge or experience with it. So here's what I think. First of all, don't buy it for the look, buy it based on functionality. It will be much more important to you in the end! Second, the difference in price is only about $40...in the long run that's not much of a price difference. I say buy the one you really like the most. When I bought my first double stroller (not a jogger) I bought the cheaper one but in the end, I didn't like it that much and I always wished I'd spent just a little more money and got what I really wanted. Again, I'm talking about features and functionality, not the appearance of the stroller. As far as the Peg Perego being used, a year old is really not a big deal. Has the carseat been used though? Or is this the one that is still in the box? It's usually recommended that you don't buy used car seats because you never know if it's been in a car accident, or damaged in some other way that is not visible. Of course you can ask the owner, but you never know if they'll tell you the truth. That would be my only hesitation. Call me if you want to talk about it some more. Good luck!

i think summer said exactly what i would say. go for functionality. the weight, how it folds up, is it easy to fold, how does it fit in the back of your car... as far as the car seat goes - i would make sure it is new. you never know what used car seats have been through and you want to make sure everything is functioning at its best. i think making the decisions as far as what to buy is hard too. there is so much out there and it is so everwhelming. everybody says something different. just buy what you like and what is going to best for you. good luck!

The Peg Perego seems very haughty and snobby. I don't know where it gets off marketing itself at such a ridiculus price. The Chicco looks just as nice and is much easier to say than Peg Perego. Of course, I hope by the time you do buy a stroller you will just call it "the stroller" and not "the Peg Perego" of "the Chicco". Otherwise, you will need to hire a Peruvian nanny, get liposuction and move to Park Avenue. I fear we could no longer be friends.

If you were having a girl, I'd say go with the Peg Perego.....or whatever the hell it is, but you are having a boy. So please stop this insane debate and get him a Porsche, preferably a 911.

Thanks guys... we think we will go with the Chicco. Holly do you want to come be our nanny and we will just tell everyone you are Peruivian? And dad, while I'm sure our son will love his grandpas porsche, we can hardly afford a stroller... so he will have to take rides in yours, at least for a while, until we win the lottery or sell our son on the black market, whichever.

If he looks like a Hunt, keep him. If he looks like a Cloward,(sorry John) sell him and get a Porsche, trust me.....you will not regret it.

I realize I am not involved. But Michele, Sister Bevan said to check out the "Quinny" which she reports is all the rage. It is on her store's website, Giggles.com. I saw the second counselor in the NG I Primary's Peg Perego car seat, and asked her opinion. She liked both car seat and stroller as they were extremely light weight.
Wow, let's keep this dialogue going. It is much more engrossing than the stale old debate on global warming. You may think I'm joking, but you would be wrong. Triss Carter, an intruder
