Fun Fest

Noah took a pony ride on Blackjack. He was very serious the whole time. When I put him on the horse I asked him if he wanted me to come with him or go watch and he told me to just watch. Posted by Picasa

We have 2 little chickens for Halloween

We were at Target trying to get Noah to pick out a halloween costume and he was not cooperating. He didn't like any of the costumes they had and he kept telling me and Lezli he wanted to be an apple...what the heck? So then we went to the baby section and found this ducky costume for Alex. When we showed Noah he said in a bratty voice, "I want to be a duck!" Now he wants to wear his costume all the time...he was dancing in front of the mirror in it. He says, "Happy Halloween!" and "Trick or Treat!" He has a trick or treat bucket too and he dumps all his food in there and eats out of it.

Conference weekend was really fun. We were so happy mom and dad and Landon could come out and see us and our new house. We are so excited for the whole family to be together at christmas! Here are some pictures of John and I before conference in front of our house and me and mom and dad on Monday before they left.

Here's the before and after pictures of us at the Shakira concert last month. It was pouring rain after the concert and we had parked 3 blocks away so we all had to take off our heels and run through the pouring rain!

My Class

The kids in my class this year are always saying the funniest things and everyone always tells me I need to post them on the blog, and then I always forget. So here is one from yesterday. This girl in my class, Arleigh is always saying the funniest most random things and she cracks me up! So yesterday I was reading the class a story and at the very end I read "and then they lived happily ever after" and then Arleigh blurts out "And then they DIED and got buried in a graveyard!" : )

Another one from yesterday: the kindergarteners are constantly complementing you, like "Ms Hunt I like your skirt" "Ms Hunt I like your hair". And then it becomes this contest like who can give me the best complement. So yesterday I was walking the kids to lunch and I had a Dr Pepper in my hands and the kids start up "Ms Hunt I like your earrings" "Ms Hunt I like your necklace" and then this little boy goes "Ms Hunt I like your Dr. Pepper." lol

And heres one more: This ones from Rey, my little one who ran away on the first day of school. He's bilingual but he's really slow and very different and he is always intermixing english and spanish when he talks. I have this other boy Omar who speaks no English at all so sometimes I have Aldo (another bilingual student) translate for me when I need to ask Omar something. Every morning when we sit in our community circle, I ask the kids a question and they get to go around the circle and all answer the question. So the other day I asked what is your favorite thing to do at school. And when it got to Omar he just gave me this blank look so I asked Aldo if he could translate. But he got all nervous and said he didn't know how to ask him in spanish what he liked to do at school. So I was just gonna move on and then Rey goes "Ms Hunt! I know spanish" So I thought, this will be interesting...I said "Ok Rey, can you ask Omar what he likes to do." And Rey looks at Omar and goes "Hey Omar. What you like to do?" in perfect english. Lol. I couldnt even hold it in I just started cracking up and Rey stared at me like what? and I just smiled and said "thanks rey!"

Here's a couple pictures of Arleigh and Rey. They are definitely two of my favorites : )

A's Hate-ah

OK Landon, either you take back your anti-Indians statement or we will ban you indefinitely from the blog!

Landon at the A's game

Saturday me and Dad went to the A's game. We got really good tickets on the 9th row by the walkway to the locker rooms. Then when the players went by I could high-5 them. If the A's had one they would have clinched the division but unfortunately they lost the game. The Hopkins were at the game too and a camera guy was in front of me so I waved and I showed up on the big screen and the Hopkins saw me. Dad tackled me while they were filming me - it was pretty cool. Next time I see Noah I'm going to teach him to say "Go A's!" Indians suck!

our Yellowstone trip in July...

We were so close to these huge bucks. There were five of them off the side of the road. This is as close as I would go without being too scared. Dad... you would have thought this was pretty cool!

Noah likes looking at the blog...

I was showing Noah the pics of Shell and John in Guatemala and when he saw the one where John is kissing Michelle Noah said, "Oh, that's so cute!"

some of our favorite guatemala pictures

By the biggest tree I have ever seen in Tikal!

Tanner freaking out about a waterfall. This was the funniest thing I had ever seen. Tanner was hyperventilating like he had never seen falling water before. We didnt stop when we saw it the first time when the water was clean and pretty. On our way out we stopped so he could get a picture and it had stormed so the water was muddy. Tanner didnt care. We were all laughing so hard in the car.

This is a view of Antigua and one of the volcanoes surrounding the small town that was one of Johns areas and the place we stayed while we were there.

Our anniversary dinner...

This is old obviously, but we just got the internet so I thought I'd catch up by adding some of our stuff. John and I went up to Snowbird for our anniversary dinner in June, since we had our first date there a year and a half before. It was lots of fun, we had the best bruchetta we have ever had. The next morning we left for Guatemala!

Quotes from Noah

Noah walked into the kitchen the other day while I was doing dishes. I said, "Hey Noah, how ya doing?" Noah said, "doing well."

I was praising Noah the other day for going pee on the potty all on his own (without me asking him if he had to go.) I helped him get his underwear and shorts back on and he said matter-of-factly, "It's so nice to be dry."

We went to a birthday party for one of our friends the other night but we left a little early because Noah started throwing tantrums. The next morning he wouldn't stop talking about the party and he said, "We had cake and ice cream, and I was MAD!"

Noah likes to play "I Spy" in the car but he doesn't always let you play with him. If you say what you see he gets really mad and says, "No, you don't spy that!"

When Alex cries Noah starts running through the house to help her, the whole time yelling, "Hang in there baby girl, I'm coming!"

Noah on the lookout for more airplanes...

 Posted by Picasa
Alex was so tired by the time we got to the airshow...she fought sleep through most of it and then fell asleep at the end during the noisiest part, the blue angels. She only cried once, when a blue angel snuck up behind us and flew right over our heads...it freaked us all out! Posted by Picasa

The Airshow

These are the Blue Angels...They were awesome (and soooooo loud). Noah has been describing all the tricks the airplanes did ever since (hand motions included). Posted by Picasa

Labor Day Picnic

Everyone loved Alex's coordinating shirt, socks, and headband from Paris! Thanks Grandma! Posted by Picasa

Alex in action...

Alex loves the jumper. She goes nuts in there, I'm always afraid she'll bounce right out. It can be dangerous with Noah around too. The other day I turned my back for just a minute...next thing I knew I saw Alex swinging halfway across the room. Noah said, "I'm pushing the baby girl in the swing!" Alex of course had a huge smile on her face.

Things Noah likes about Indians games...

Landon's 2nd Day of Jr. High

Landon is in Jr High now. His 1st day went good and is only complaint is how heavy his backpack is - and there's more books to come!

Landon's backpack weight

Landon wanted everyone to see how heavy his backpack is with his Jr. High stuff. He weighs in at 89 lbs and his 12 lb backpack seems a lot heavier than that.

Sacramento Temple Open House

Here's the guys in front of the Sacramento Temple. We went thru the Open House - it was really gorgeous! The Church really made the Open House a big deal and went to a lot of effort to make it a reaaly big missionary tool. We were lucky to be able to go with Tanner before he left.

Mommy and Alex at the pool

This is the pool we get to attend courtesy of Drew's parents (they got me a babysitters pass). Noah wouldn't cooperate for a picture but he LOVES going to the pool. He always says, "mommy look at me, I'm swimming like a seal!" and then he thrashes around in the water. Alex always tries to dive in head first while I'm holding her.

Our little roly-poly can sit up!

I think she looks like a big fat cabbage patch doll!

Dallas Trip

Here's John with all his converts - Patti (on his right) and Sherry and Summer (on his left). It was really a great experience for John to get to spend time with all of them again. The trip ended up being a really amazing experience.

Our Tip to Dallas

Our Trip to Dallas was so wonderful - I have more photos to post but the Blogger seems to be having trouble right now - so hopefully I'll have more on soon. Love, Mom

the Girls

Summer's girls were so adorable - Emma (on the left) is 3 and Bailey (on the right) is 8 and looks just like Summer Long did when she was 8. She had the cutest personality! That's Patti's granddaughter in the middle.

Fun at Disneyland!

Landon & I had a ton of fun at Disneyland this last week. Kathy & Ben were great to travel with and on Monday and Wednexday neither of the parks were all that crowded. (Tuesday wasn't even all that bad) We went on all the big rides several times and saw some new shows - it was an easy and fun trip. The weather was perfect too - we really lucked out all the way around! It may suprise you all that I chose not to carry my camera around and didn't take one single picture - just bought one of these for the scrapbook - we were in super easy mode.
